Veteran’s Services:

The Veteran’s office continues to provide the following:
- Financial assistance to veterans and their families, known as Ch 115 
- Assistance with VA Claims
- Assistance navigating VA Health Care

Anyone calling Veterans Services can be assured to reach a person at (781) 586-6911 or by emailing us.

The Lynn Department of Veterans Services is a one-stop shop for veterans and their families in need of information or assistance in obtaining any federal state or local veterans benefit to which they may be entitled.  Our goal is to provide this service with the dignity and these men and women have earned through their service to the nation.

Below is a list of some of the services provided by this Department:

• Provide emergency financial assistance for Veterans, better known as Chapter 115 Benefits.
• Assist veterans and their families with ALL Federal VA benefit and health care paperwork.
• Assist veterans and their families in obtaining military records
• Assist veterans and their families in processing Massachusetts Veteran Annuity claims
• Assist veterans and their families in filing tax abatement forms
• Assist veterans and their families obtaining veterans license plates

In addition, the Department coordinates the City’s Memorial Day and Veterans Day activities, ensures that and the City’s Veteran Squares and graves of those interred in Veterans’ lots in Pine Grove Cemetery are decorated each Memorial Day

Annual Ceremonies and Remembrances
Director Mike Sweeney, Lynn Department of Veterans' Services joins the Lynn Veterans' Council and invites you to join us during one or all of our annual veterans ceremonies held through the year at Lynn City Hall.

All are welcome to attend! Light refreshments are usually served after each City Hall foyer ceremony.

This will be a Veteran’s Preference Project

- Do you live or work on the North Shore
- Is your current housing overcrowded, substandard, in a dangerous neighborhood or costs more than 50% of your total income?
- Are you willing to help build your own home?
- Does your total gross income fall within the ranges posted below?
- Are you a veteran as defined by HUD or a surviving family member of a veteran?*

If you answered YES to all of these questions, you could qualify for home ownership through Habitat for Humanity. To apply for home ownership at our newest project at 6 Grover St in Lynn, you may: download an application from our website, email or call to request an application.
