City-wide Fall Clean Up Announced
DPW Commissioner Jay Fink has announced that the citywide Fall Cleanup campaign is about to commence.
A reminder to the community that the street sweeping campaign will commence November 2nd, in Ward One, following numerically through Ward Seven. There will be weekly announcements confirming the scheduled locations and the full process should take approximately five weeks.
Citizens should take advantage of cleaning up and join in the city’s effort to spruce up the neighborhoods. Automobiles must be moved from the street during the process as you may be subject to being ticketed and/or towed.
As always, the street sweeping schedule is always subject to change, due to inclement weather. A very important reminder: DO NOT sweep debris into large as the machines cannot pick them up and will be left behind.
The Commissioner also added that beginning the week of November 2nd and continuing for the entire month of November, there will be a great opportunity for residents to discard leaf and yard waste curbside and urges everyone to take advantage.
Our citizens have always been very supportive and are encouraged to compile their curbside yard waste (leaves, grass and debris) into the appropriate containers to be left out on their regular scheduled trash day. Leaves should not be pushed into the streets.
“It is great to see the community taking such pride in their homes and neighborhoods, and the efforts that they are making is really great for the entire city” stated the Commissioner.
